Two-level stretch ceilings: photo, matte, in the kitchen, installation

two-level

Despite the fact that two-level stretch ceilings are very popular today, each owner, before making the final decision on arranging this type of ceiling system in his home, undoubtedly wants to get acquainted with its key features and understand the aspects of choice.

Tension structures - stylish and modern

With the advent of stretch coverings, the era of plasterboard two-level ceilings ended, which required a lot of time and effort to create them. In addition, the use of drywall is not always possible. This material does not tolerate moisture well, which is why it is not suitable for decorating ceilings in the bathroom, in the kitchen and in unheated rooms. Moreover, the slightest leak from above is detrimental to the plasterboard structure and will negate all the costs of its arrangement.

A new type of design and construction solution - tension canvases - allow you to create a stylish interior in any room and embody the most bizarre architectural concept in it.

The two-level stretch ceiling consists of 2 canvases laid at different heights, which together create an original and fantastically beautiful composition. Such a complex design makes it possible to:

  • align the geometry of the walls;
  • hide the flaws in the base ceiling;
  • visually change the shape of the room;
  • and create local lighting that will allow you to zone the space and focus on certain objects.
  • Due to the combination of different levels, the design of the room looks stylish and unusual, attracting the eyes and emphasizing the good taste of the owners of the house.

    Multilevel systems are installed depending on the purpose of the premises:

    1. Two-level planes in the bedroom are mounted mostly above the bed to highlight the sleeping area. Matte and satin canvases with photo printing - flowers, the Eiffel Tower, a wedding photo, fairy-tale characters for children and a win-win option - an imitation of a twinkling starry sky - will give a special charm to the bedroom.
    2. Stretch two-level ceilings in the kitchen help to divide the kitchen space into a work sector and a dining room. For the kitchen, designers advise choosing easy-care vinyl for both levels. In the cooking area, tension structures are supplemented with spotlights, and a chandelier is placed above the dining table. Such arrangement of zone lighting requires many style directions - art deco, scandi, country, American style, loft, etc. d.
    3. In the living room, emphasis is made with the help of height differences in levels, a combination of colors and textures of the stretching material, as well as thanks to built-in lighting. A large stylish chandelier in the center of the room and lamps on the sides make it possible to collect all the furnishings of the room into a coherent ensemble. The level arrangement of LED backlighting with different luminous flux intensities allows you to illuminate the most interesting objects, be it a shelf, a chest of drawers, a panel, a picture, a sofa, etc. d., and matte stretch two-level ceilings with wide baguettes around the edges will turn the living room into a real palace hall.
    4. Level coating in the hallway is important no less than in the hall or in the kitchen. Here we need the effect of expanding the space, which can be done using a combination of white and pastel glossy canvases, as well as photo printing on the first level. It is advisable to choose an image with bright and contrasting lines in order to maximize the desired result.
    5. Bathrooms, showers, swimming pools are rooms with extreme humidity, which is why only tension structures can solve the problem with their finishing. Usually bathrooms and showers in an apartment are small and without windows. That is why the problem here is the same as for the hallway - to enlarge and illuminate the room as much as possible. Glossy stretch canvases on both levels, a combination of a glossy and matte finish, or photo printing with pictures on a water theme will help with this.
    6. An important nuance: when choosing a level finish of the base floor, you need to know that during the installation process, the canvas, bending from one level to another, wrinkles in right angles, so it is quite difficult to make the corners perfectly even.

      In practice, as a rule, they are slightly rounded, which is why even rectangular two-level planes will have rounded corners, which, however, does not spoil their appearance at all, but, on the contrary, smooths out the excessive sharpness of the shapes.

      Two-level coverings made of stretch fabrics are irreplaceable:

      • if you urgently need to revive the interior;
      • when you want to achieve extraordinary originality of the design, because each mounted coating is almost unique and inimitable;
      • where two-level is a necessity, for example, it is required to visually shorten a long room or smooth out the angularity of a room;
      • when there is a need for local lighting - for a romantic dinner, watching TV, reading, working or sleeping.
      • Functions and design of bunk floors

        Complex level systems differ functionally and aesthetically from standard ceilings:

        • two-level coatings are individual - their appearance depends on the imagination of the owners;
        • they can combine various textures of finishes and color nuances, playing on the interior with contrasts;
        • stepped structures can visually reduce or increase the space;
        • they are distinguished by a wealth of colors and shapes - arched systems, domed configurations, spiral, oval, wavy, diverging, round and others,
        • bunk coverings hide defects in the existing ceiling, electrical wiring and all communications;
        • two-level stretch ceilings are successfully combined with all lighting systems - decorative, traditional, neon, LED;
        • level finishing is an ideal design option for studio apartments and combined premises, as it allows you to divide the space into functional zones and create a proper atmosphere in each;
        • and modern installation methods and aluminum profiles make complex multi-tiered structures incredibly durable.

          Which is preferable - matte texture, satin, fabric or gloss

          There is no big difference between tensioning materials, since they are all:

          • durable, practical and safe;
          • beautiful in appearance and easy to care for;
          • resistant to steam, condensation and mechanical shock;
          • easy to assemble and replace;
          • as well as waterproof - capable of holding a large volume of water, and after draining it take its original shape.
          • Fabric stretch ceilings differ slightly.

            They are more durable, difficult to puncture and impossible to scratch. Cloths made of fabric have proven themselves perfectly in rooms with temperature extremes. However, they have only a matte texture and do not accept moisture, which is why they do not hold water well.

            When choosing a material, you need to take into account the stylization of the room, its location, illumination and, of course, the operational characteristics of the coating:

            1. Glossy designs will help to make the northern room brighter and higher. In the kitchen, they reflect the shine of tiles and metal fittings. They will look beautiful in the living room and hallway, especially in combination with original chandeliers and sconces, where the reflection of each light bulb against the lacquered surface will make the atmosphere festive. Mirror stretch coverings for the pool and bathroom are irreplaceable. But when creating a semi-antique interior, it is better not to equip lacquered ceilings.
            2. Matt systems are installed primarily in children's rooms, as well as in the bedroom, hall and study, decorated in a classic style. Of all types of coatings, matte films are the most economical, therefore everyone can afford such a decor of the existing ceiling. And if you consider how long the stretch coating will last in comparison with the usual finish, it becomes clear that matte two-level ceilings are the most appropriate option for organizing a chic interior.
            3. Satin films - the golden mean between varnish and matte stretch canvases. They look like a smoothly painted surface, but due to their silky texture, they are richer than matte and without excessive shine, glossy.
            4. Fabric products are good for their seamlessness and the possibility of self-installation, since the installation of fabric canvases is carried out without the use of special heating equipment.
            5. Translucent tensioning systems allow you to equip interiors filled with light. But here it is important to choose the lighting competently. Competent lighting between the ceiling and the translucent canvas can create, for example, the illusion of a window in the ceiling or the effect of an all-glass ceiling. Different degrees of transparency of layered canvases open up endless possibilities for fashionable and extraordinary designs.
            6. Two-level stretch ceilings with photo printing will take the owners to uninhabited islands, to Paris, Rome, or into the Middle Ages. Expensive, of course, but any dream will come true.
            7. And a few words about color

              The color scheme and print play not the last violin when choosing a complex tension structure, as they affect a comfortable stay in the room:

              1. Conservative people, gravitating towards freedom and classics, are suitable for delicate colors, matte and satin ceilings. However, the light coatings of the cold spectrum - pale blue, light gray, white, silver and the like must certainly be revived with colored splashes, which will soften the "coolness" of the situation and add coziness.
              2. Lovers of ultra-fashionable designs can safely choose glossy films of any color, up to extravagant black, but taking into account the decoration of the walls and floor. For example, the rich lacquered yellow color scheme in a two-tier structure is amazingly good against the background of sand, milk or cream walls.
              3. Abstraction, bright colorful canvases and prints are intended for cheerful, optimistic natures. Red, green, orange, peach, etc. d. colors look spectacular in the mirror version. Nevertheless, colorful shades should be used sparingly so that they do not overwhelm the space with their intensity, and it is imperative to select the appropriate decor.
              4. It is necessary to take into account the effect of color nuances on a person and the surrounding space. Designers advise using dosed, and certainly combine with calmer noble shades:
                • blue color scheme, long-term exposure to which brings sadness and boredom;
                • white due to its exorbitant sterility;
                • bright green, which in large quantities has a strong sedative effect and reduces activity;
                • intense purple as it conceals space;
                • gray and brown, depressing effect on the psyche;
                • as well as red, the excess of which causes irritability.
                • Multilevel structures - a progressive interior design technology that combines practicality and beauty. Currently, they are rightfully leading among other types of decoration for residential and commercial premises. But it is the two-level ceilings that are in high demand - various configurations of frames and a huge variety of stretch canvases allow you to turn both low and high base ceiling space into a real work of art.
