The main element of the distribution device consists of protective devices in the form of maximum current and differential current switches. The former are designed to interrupt the continuity of the circuit, when the current in it exceeds a safe value. Thus, they protect connected devices from exposure to possible voltage surges. Different types of switches are used depending on the load in the circuit and the type of equipment that it feeds.

Differential current devices, in turn, are de -energized if the current current is not equal to the rated current. Their reaction in case of violation is immediately thanks to the so -called IO transformer (transformer of Ferranti), who checks the presence of a short circuit or leakage of current to the ground in the protected circuit. This action protects against fire, and also reduces the risk of electric shock when touching.

Safe installation operation would not have been without a disconnector. This is the first component to which the main power cord coming from the cable connector is brought. He plays the role of a circuit breaker, tearing the selected chain or the entire system in case of refusal. Such functionality is also useful during repair or long break in the use of the installation.

The equipment of the distribution device also provides the optimal level of protection against lightning. Due to the arrangement of grounding, the sudden survivors of the voltage that occur during lightning strikes in the transmission line are reduced. An extra charge simply goes to a linear or triangular ground circuit, so this prevents damage to the installation and all devices connected to the network.
